Commissioned in 2011, Tourland Travel Pte Ltd Singapore is a part of Tourland Travel Sdn Bhd Malaysia which handles various groups of tourists, making land arrangements and ground logistics for every guest who comes to Singapore to have a memorable experience in this country.

As the CEO of Tourland Travel Singapore, Mr Samir Parmar comes with a wealth of experience handling ten years outbound from India and almost nine years handling inbound into Singapore. He has handled all types of tourist from Free Independent Travellers (FITs), family groups as big as 15 people to large Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Events (MICE) groups. Mr Parmar shared he had been in the tourism industry in India since 1995 and had moved to Singapore in 2006 and had worked here for five years before setting up Tourland Travel.

With regards to their services, Mr Parmar described that they are designed specifically to accommodate the two main groups namely the FITs and the MICE groups. For those under FITs, he had realised that more and more people prefer the flexibility of travelling on their own especially those guests coming from metro cities and hence have high expectations. Therefore, the team had to customise these packages based on clients requests and budget, to offer the best available and possible options.

On the other hand, handling MICE groups is a different ball game altogether as they work very closely with the agents as well as other parties to ensure that the clients would be satisfied with the overall experience during their time in Singapore.

Mr Parmar shared he had been in the tourism industry in India since 1995 and had moved to Singapore in 2006 and had worked here for five years before setting up Tourland Travel. He also explained that the initial challenge he faced when he had launched his company was the need to create awareness among potential clients, which took some time to build.

Nevertheless, he managed to overcome these difficulties through sheer hard work as well attaining the right partners and relied on the word of recommendation from customers, suppliers and outsiders. In fact, Tourland Travel is now a well-known brand in India and most of his business are coming from India.

With so many years in the tourism industry, Mr Parmar certainly knows what makes his company different from their competitors. He was proud to point out that in his organisation, rather than having an office of his own, he sits with his team which removes the idea of hierarchy. By doing this, he felt that the staff would feel much happier. In turn, they work together as a family, achieving the goals they had set out to accomplish.

Mr Parmar also mentioned one of his other achievements that he was immensely proud of the time he had to make arrangements and coordination for over 1,800 tourists. Despite the vast volume of people, he did not receive any complaints from anyone of them. It is certainly a testament to the vision, foresight, planning and strategy that Mr Parmar and his team have to make this a success.

Evidently, Tourland Travel received many positive feedback and testimonials from satisfied customers, praising them for the well-organised arrangements and the friendly services provided by the staff.

Looking back, Mr Parmar believed it was his passion for the tourism industry was what motivate and inspire him. “This is not an easy job because (we) need to deal with people and their complaints. However, receiving compliments from our guest makes everything worthwhile. It is about having a team effort that will put in their 100 percent.”

When asked about the future of Tourland Travel, Mr Parmer revealed that expansion “would not be a rush, but a step by step process”. He went on to say it would include going into other markets besides India to increase their volume. Having such a proactive attitude towards bringing in the best for their business and with a supportive leader like Mr Samir Parmar, it is without a doubt that Toutlan Travel Pte Ltd will continue to strive and do well in the tourism industry for years to come.
